Final Fantasy XV is starting to dip into other franchises with its unrivaled urge to be as many things as possible. We’re well beyond the reach of NieR and Square Enix’s own catalog now, and Ubisoft is more than happy to add Assassin’s Creed content into the fray.
Those familiar white hoods, the ones Assassin’s Creed made a large video game cliche out of, will be coming to Final Fantasy XV next week, Aug 29, and lasting until Jan 31. The timed event is a festival DLC, similar to the Moogle Chocobo Carnival that frequently pop , but it will be set in Lestallum and revolve around Ubisoft’s best-selling series.
For those who participated in the Moogle Chocobo Carnival, your hard work and patience for carrying around the mysterious Dream Egg item will finally pay off. The item can be traded in for the Master Assassin’s costume. The Moogle Chocobo will be available until late September.
Note that this is not the first time Final Fantasy XV and Assassin’s Creed have teamed up for DLC. Ubisoft’s franchise also appeared in Final Fantasy XIII-2. If these match-ups become a regular thing for Final Fantasy XV, I can’t wait to see the exclusive DLC that comes to the rumored Nintendo Switch version.
That’s sort of a rule, isn’t it? Games that appear on Nintendo consoles have to have some form of exclusive Mario or Zelda themed DLC. At this point, nothing in Final Fantasy XV would surprise me.
